Description

Our date sugar is made from premium, organic, California-grown Deglet Noor dates. Without additives or preservatives, it is simply dehydrated dates ground into a light brown, fine sugar, that's it. With a texture similar to brown sugar and a rich, caramel-like flavor, date sugar is a wonderful alternative sweetener to use in place of brown sugar in baked goods including muffins, cookies and breads.

The substitution ratio is 1 to 1, however, if you find your product is too sweet using this ration, you can lower the amount of date sugar to 2/3 of a cup. Due to the natural sticky texture of dates, the sugar will tend to clump over time and it does not readily dissolve in liquids. Due to this, we recommend to use only as a sweetener in baked goods or as a topping. We don't recommend adding it to any beverages.

Storage Recommendations

It is recommended to store date sugar in a cool, dry, humidity controlled environment.  The shelf life is dependent on storage conditions and is highly variable.  The industry standard for shelf life, when stored under optimum conditions, is 12 months from the date of manufacture.
