Description

Emmer, also known as farro, is an old-world heirloom type of grain similar to einkorn. It is also one of the first crops domesticated and cultivated. High in protein and lower in gluten, it may be an alternative for people who experience digestive issues from higher gluten types of wheat flour. With a slightly sweet, nutty flavor and beige, brown color, emmer flakes are a tasty and nutritious ingredient to make cereal, muesli and bars. They are also commonly used as a topping for artisan bread and other baked goods.

From the Heart of the Willamette Valley in Oregon, we are proud to offer a full line of Camas Country Mill artisan flours and grains. Camas Country Mills wheat and grains are grown by Hunton Farms in Junction City, Oregon. This third-generation family farm is one of the first in the Willamette Valley to transition from growing grass seed to growing grains and beans. The Hunton family is committed to building a strong, sustainable and vibrant regional grain community.
