Himalayan cedarwood is a species of cedar native to the western Himalayas. It is a large evergreen coniferous tree. The word deodara is derived from the Sanskrit term "devadaru" which means "wood of the gods". In Hindu, it is worshipped as a divine tree. It is also the national tree of Pakistan. Widely used in Ayurveda medicines, it is also used in soaps, creams, lotions, facial cleansers, shampoos, massage oils, insect repellants and perfumery.
