Minced Garlic

Garlic (Allium sativum)  is a member of the onion family, allium.  As a matter of fact, the word garlic is derived from the Old Englishword garleac which means spear (gar) shaped leek. Native to Central Asia and Northeastern Iran, garlic has been consumed by humans for several thousand years. Minced garlic is mainly used for food flavoring and in traditional medicine. With a pungent, spicy flavor and aroma, minced garlic is used all over the world in different types of cuisine. It is used as an ingredient in sauces and dips, to season meat, vegetables, and pasta as well as on bread to make garlic bread, bruschetta, and crostini. Minced garlic pairs well with onion, tomato, and ginger.
