Organic Fresh Royal Jelly
Description
Organic Royal jelly is a potent, milky, pale yellow, creamy liquid with a strong taste. At room temperatures, it has the consistency and looks of vanilla pudding. Queen bees live exclusively on royal jelly, which is thought to account for their incredible size, fertility, and longevity. This product contains 4 ounces of organic royal jelly.
Shipping and Storage
Royal jelly is naturally stored in the beehive at temperatures in the mid-90s. GloryBee imports royal jelly in a temperature-controlled freight container and stores royal jelly frozen solid to maintain the shelf life of the product. Warmer temperatures during shipping time will not alter the quality or freshness of the royal jelly you receive. We normally ship royal jelly in standard cardboard box with a cooling pack. This pack will likley be thawed upon arrival (dependent upon weather and shipping method chosen). If the pack is thawed, your royal jelly is NOT spoiled and you can be confident in its quality.
During warmer temperatures, your royal jelly will likely arrive thawed. Please be assured that this does not affect the integrity of your product. GloryBee is not responsible for local weather conditions affecting the temperature at which your royal jelly arrives. We recommend that fresh royal jelly orders ship using Next Day or 2nd Day Air. We HIGHLY recommend choosing next day shipping during hot summer months. If you select 2 day or overnight, we will ship your royal jelly Monday through Wednesday. If you select ground shipping, we will have your order shipped on the next business day Monday through Friday. Please note that any other product in your order will be required to ship using the same shipping method.
About Organic Royal Jelly Harvesting
In nature when a colony needs a new queen, worker bees will build several wax queen cells. A queen will lay an egg into these cells and nurse bees will fill them with royal jelly to feed and develop the new queen. The hatched queens then fight it out – and the survivor is the new queen of the colony.
Commercially, beekeepers mimic the natural process by inserting wax queen cells or “starts” into the hive. The beekeeper will then insert an egg into these starts and the nurse bees then fill them with royal jelly.
At a very specific time, the beekeeper removes these fake queen cells from the colony and uses a small suction tool to extract the royal jelly from each cup. Larvae are filtered out and the organic royal jelly is chilled immediately. This painstaking process requires a strong colony and even more attentive beekeeper. It is estimated to produce a single ounce of organic royal jelly it requires 10 to 20 cells.

Sourcing
GloryBee has a longstanding relationship with our organic royal jelly supplier. Like every other domestic supplier of royal jelly, GloryBee sources its organic Royal Jelly from China. Unlike every other supplier, we believe that our customers should know this information up front. We source organic royal jelly from the rural remote areas of the Anhui, Hebei, Shandong provinces of mainland China where beekeepers have been producing organic royal jelly for decades. Many of the families we source our royal jelly from have been keeping bees for three generations or more. As the senior beekeeper retires, children are taking over the business and continuing to grow and establish larger colonies. We fully trust the quality of our product and test each batch of organic royal jelly to ensure freshness, potency, and to ensure there are no prohibited substances
One of the hidden secrets of the royal jelly industry is that 99% of royal jelly comes from China because there is very little royal jelly production in the United States or other countries. The United States beekeeping industry is geared toward honey production and pollination. Because royal jelly is difficult to produce and requires a large number of strong colonies to be an effective business, few domestic beekeepers pursue royal jelly production.

Unfortunately, some beekeepers in China have severely damaged the reputation of China’s otherwise strong beekeeping industry. There have been reports in the past where beekeepers used prohibited antibiotics or somehow adulterated or diluted royal jelly to lower their costs.
