Old fashioned rolled oats, also known as regular rolled oats, require ten to fifteen minutes of cooking time before being served as a popular breakfast meal. With a rich oat flavor, rolled oats are whole grain and are a great source of soluble fiber. In addition, these rolled oats are a primary ingredient in a number of applications such as cookies, crackers, breads, and granola.
Rolled oats, steel-cut oats, and instant oats all originate from the same ingredient: oat groats. They are processed in different ways to create various forms you're using to eating and baking with. Rolled oats are gently steamed and then pressed or rolled to make them flat. These rolled oats absorb more liquid than steel-cut oats and are less processed than instant oats.
