Patchouli essential oil is brownish in color and comes from the mint family of plants. Native to the tropical regions of Asia, it is now grown and cultivated in China, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Mauritius, Taiwan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It contains the naturally occurring chemical components patchoulol, bulnesene and alpha-guaiene. It blends well with bergamot, clary sage, grapefruit, lavender, lemongrass and sweet orange essential oils. Unlike other essential oils, the aroma of patchouli essential oil improves with age just like a fine wine.

Patchouli essential oil is known to have a calming, grounding and balancing effect on the nerves and emotions. It is also known to promote smooth, glowing skin. Since it is a base note, it is widely used to make perfumes as it is a fixative and grounds the blend of different middle and top note aromas. It also can work well as an insect repellent, in creams and lotions and in an aroma diffuser.

Purity and Grading
All of our essential oils are 100% pure, undiluted oils. We strive to source the highest quality oils from established, reputable suppliers that value purity, sustainability and natural practices. We are often questioned by customers whether our oils are “therapeutic grade”.
The term “therapeutic grade” was created and trademarked by newer essential oil companies to differentiate their products from others on the market. The truth of the matter is that the Food and Drug Administration does not certify the quality of essential oils as “therapeutic grade” nor do they provide a certifying label. GloryBee Essential Oils provide the same quality, purity, and reputability as therapeutic grade oils – often times at a lower prices.
